In 2007, Julia Lane started Spot On K9 Sports in her backyard in South Elgin, IL. She and her husband had relocated to the Chicago suburbs after Hurricane Katrina flooded their New Orleans home. Julia loved working with shelter and rescue dogs, having four of her own, and wanted to help other people enjoy their dogs more through training and exercise. Her motto continues to be, “A tired dog is a good dog!” She competed in agility and rally with her Dalmatians, Darby and Jolie, and became a member of the Association of Professional Dog Trainers. |

Testimonials
"Julia is an incredible teacher for both dogs and their owners! I never thought my dog would be able to pass the CGC test but he did with flying colors after taking her Downtown Hound course. My younger dog is in agility with her and absolutely loving it. Julia is a 100% positive reinforcement trainer; what sets her apart is that she helps find reinforcers that are not treats (toys, praise, etc) so you don’t have to constantly be feeding your dog treats. We’ve worked with over a dozen trainers and she is the top trainer I recommend for group classes. Even my family has been shocked at how much progress we have made with training after we started working with Julia." ~ Anna "We attended our first private agility lesson here this week. We had the best time and can't wait to return! We are going to sign up for obedience and then hopefully some hounds around town as well." ~ Jeanette |
