Looking for fun? Look no further than the Batavia Park District. After all, your fun is their business! For over 40 years, the Batavia Park District has managed open space in an environmentally sound manner. The district currently maintains 350 acres with 39 park and facility sites.
Recreational opportunities for all ages are a primary goal of the award-winning park district. You’ll find programs for tots to seniors and everyone in between – over 1,000 are offered each year.
Since everyone’s definition of ‘recreation’ varies, so do the opportunities available through the Batavia Park District. If you need action, check out the various sports camps, classes and teams sponsored by the district. Do you have a teen who is looking for something to do – tell them about the Teen Center. If you’d like to learn a new craft – there are programs for that as well.
The Batavia Park District website provides an up-to-date listing of program offerings, parks and facilities, as well as information about special events and festivals.
The district’s four miles of bike trails serve as a hub to navigate the entire Fox River Trail system. Combined with the running/walking paths, a lot of ground can be actively covered. For other non-stop summer fun for the entire family, make sure you include:
Enhancing the quality of life in the area, the Batavia Park District’s parks and facilities are far from ho-hum. In 2002, an inline skating/skateboarding park was dedicated, joining the unique aquatic facility Hall Quarry Beach, the Depot Museum, and a multitude of baseball and soccer fields; as well as tennis and basketball courts. The district also maintains and manages the beautiful and nature-friendly Riverwalk, which was named one of the Midwest region`s "Top 10” by the Chicago Tribune.
Many of the facilities, both indoors and outdoors, are available for rent. Is your family planning a reunion or other gathering? Or does your company need facilities for a seminar or company picnic? View our rental information and then download a facilities rental form to request your date.
