The Shakespeare at the Centre production of William Shakespeare's most loved romantic comedy, "A Midsummer Night's Dream," will transport you into folklore Scandinavia where midsummer celebrations mark the season of fertility, and send you into the woods during this celebratory evening, to meet elfish sprites who do much mischief in those woods! Helena loves Demetrius, who loves Hermia, who loves Lysander, who in turns loves Hermia. Told by her father she must wed Demetrius, Hermia escapes into the woods with Lysander, followed by a determined Demetrius, who is followed by an even more determined Helena. The woodland sprites, Oberon and Puck, find folly in this procession and unable to help themselves, decide to meddle!
